Surf Classifieds Sellers Guide...
Surfboards...
As a surfboard owner, you will of course have looked after it well by keeping it safely in a board bag. Most 'dings' happen on land. If this does happen, get them repaired before you put it in the water to prevent water soaking into the foam and discolouring it. Before you sell your board, why not clean off all the old wax and check for dings, damage to nose and tail, deck depressions and loose fins. Get them fixed first. Wetsuits... Look after your wetsuit and it will repay your care by keeping you warm and comfortable during its lifetime, and then fetching a good price when its time to sell. They are probably the most expensive item in your wardrobe, so why leave it in a soggy, salty heap in the back yard? Wash it! It is probably good idea to exchange it for a new one every year or two. You can always try using it in part-exchange for a new suit at the shop where you bought it. They are usually used to hire out to the summer wannabe's.
Vehicles...
When the time comes to part with your wheels, please resist the temptation to flog it as 'in good condition' when it really needs some expensive work doing. Either get it put right first, and prove it by producing the invoices, or reduce the price accordingly, or eventually take it to the scrap yard! Warning: Scams
There are a number of scams in operation that you should be aware of, usually from outside the UK. There is no substitute for common sense, but if you are suspicious about a buyer, or want to report a scam then check out the following link...HERE Site design for A1Surf © 2008
